Additional Funds International applicants MUST DEMONSTRATE the availability of adequate financial resources to meet personal and educational obligations. The properly completed "Official Statement of Finances," accompanied by certified evidence of your sponsor's financial capability, MUST BE filed with the Office of International Education before an admission letter and your I-20 Form can be released. Obtaining I-20 and Visa Once finances have been confirmed and the applicant has been accepted, the Graduate School will notify Auburn University's Office of International Education, who will initiate the I-20 paperwork. The I-20 will be sent priority mail as soon as possible so as to allow ample time to obtain a visa. Time Frame The Office of International Education (OIE) recommends an anticipated period of six months from the time a student is accepted at AU until their arrival. This allows time for the Graduate School to notify them of the acceptance, time for OIE to issue and send the I-20, and time for the prospective student to obtain their visa approval and make proper travel plans. Of course there are some countries (and the list varies) where the time may be longer or much shorter. Changes or alerts are posted as they become available. |
