My undergraduate degree is in Biology from Southwest Missouri State University and I received my Master's from the University of West Florida in Ecology & Evoluntionary Biology / Coastal Zone Studies.

I started my professional career with Auburn University at the Auburn University Marine Extension & Research Center in Mobile, AL. There I was the Environmental Educator & Watershed Coordinator for the Dog River. Afterwards, for nearly nine years I worked for The Nature Conservancy in both the Alabama and Florida Chapters. Primarily during that time, I was the Conservation Ecologist and Ecosystem Support Team Coordinator for the Gulf Coastal Plain Ecosystem Partnership (GCPEP). I provided leadership, facilitation, administration and landscape level ecological expertise to federal, state and private land management partners in the two-state, 1.05 million-acre partnership.

In my "free" time, I am a member of the Escambia Search and Rescue K9 Unit where I train and work my black lab "Ivan". I also enjoy spending time doing outdoors activities with my husband Eddie.
